§ 10-31. Motion to forfeit or refund bond.

  • The forfeiture of any cash bond for failure to appear in the municipal court, as well as any refund or return of the same upon appearance made, may be made upon motion of the city attorney or on the court's own motion. In each instance of any such forfeiture, or any refund or return, the judge or assistant judge shall show upon the docket of the court the disposition of such bond and he shall sign such entries. Any and all refunds or returns so authorized and noted upon the docket shall be made by the clerk of the court upon the city's check drawn on the court appearance bond escrow fund. Any amounts forfeited may be, from time to time, transferred into the general fund of the city by the clerk.
