§ 12-31. Correction of dangerous equipment.

  • When any electrical equipment is found by an inspector to be dangerous to persons or property because it is defective or improperly installed, the person owning the electrical equipment shall be notified in writing and shall have any changes or repairs made as required by the electrical inspector which will place such equipment in safe condition. If such work is not completed as specified by the inspector in the notice, the electrical inspector shall have the authority to disconnect or order the disconnection of electrical service to the dangerous electrical equipment. In cases of emergency, when necessary for safety to persons or property, or when electrical equipment may interfere with the work of the fire department, the senior officer of the fire department at the site shall have the authority to immediately cause the disconnection of any electrical equipment.
