§ 12-114. Circuses, revival tents, etc.

  • (a)

    Circuses, carnivals, revival tents, road shows, exhibitions, concessions, tents and other installations of a similar nature that provide self-contained generating and distribution facilities shall obtain a temporary permit from the electrical inspector who shall be responsible for determining that all wiring used shall be reasonably safe to person and property and that the work is done in a manner to render it safe from fire and electrical shock. The fee for this permit shall be one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00).

    (b)

    Circuses, carnivals, revival tents, carnivals, road shows, exhibitions, concessions, tents, and other installations of a similar nature that do not provide self-contained generating equipment, shall employ a licensed electrical contractor in a supervisory capacity, who shall be responsible and obtain permits in the name of the owner, exhibitor or operator, for all electrical work done on the premises. No electrical work except that covered by section 12-47 shall be done on a service and circuit basis as covered in section 12-116.

    (c)

    Portable equipment, appliance, fixtures, switchboards and feeders shall be approved as specified in section 12-156.

    (d)

    Permits shall be of a temporary nature and the applicant shall state on his request the period of time the service is required and shall remove, or apply and receive a written extension of time for the wiring so approved, at the termination of the time requested.

    (e)

    All wiring used in conjunction with public assembly shall be safe to persons and property and the electrical inspector shall satisfy himself that the work is done in a manner to render it safe from fire and electrical shock.
