§ 18-1. Library board created; membership; tenure; residence requirements.

The library board of directors of the city shall consist of seven (7) members who shall be residents of the state and of the County of Maverick. Each board member shall hold office for two (2) years. Vacancies shall be filled in the same manner as members are originally appointed, except that an appointee filling a vacancy shall serve only during the unexpired term of the member whose vacancy he/she is filling. Five (5) of the board members shall be appointed through a resolution duly adopted by the city council with each council member entitled to an appointment. Two (2) of the board members shall be appointed by the county judge and county commissioners court.
