§ 19-57. Fee for false burglar system alarms.

  • (a)

    The city manager is hereby authorized and directed to collect from the owner or person in legal control of a premise, a fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) per occurrence for a false burglar system alarm as defined herein below. A false burglar system alarm fee shall be charged for each occurrence after the third occurrence preceding a twelve (12) month period.

    (b)

    A false burglar system alarm, for purposes of this section, is defined as a signal with the intent to summon the Eagle Pass Police Department for assistance and upon responding to said summon, discovering that no imminent threat was present and the reason that the alarm was triggered was due to user error.
