§ 24-5. Sale of personal property—Unclaimed property to be reported.

All personal property, except live animals and perishable property, not owned or claimed by the city, in possession, custody or under control of any department, official or employee of the city, and which shall have remained unclaimed by the owner thereof for at least sixty (60) days, or on which any fees, charges or penalties, claimed by the city, have not been paid by the owner for at least sixty (60) days, shall be reported by such department, official or employee having such possession, custody or control to the city council immediately after the expiration of such period of sixty (60) days.
