§ 26-99. Maximum limits on specific streets.
The following streets or portions thereof shall be designated as special speed zones and it shall be unlawful for any person to drive any vehicle thereon at a speed greater than indicated as follows:
(1)
All speeds as designated in Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, article 6701d, section 166.
(2)
All designated school zones (unless otherwise provided) ..... 20 MPH
(3)
The maximum, reasonable and prudent speed limit on Loop 3443 from its intersection with Business 277 (old Loop 431) and F.M. 1021 (El Indio Hwy.), for a distance of approximately 1.638 miles, be and it is hereby reduced from fifty-five (55) mph to forty-five (45) mph.
(4)
The maximum reasonable, and prudent speed limit on U.S. HWY 277 South is hereby reduced from seventy (70) mph to fifty-five (55) mph from the city limits line for approximately seven-tenths ( 7/10 ) of a mile, then to forty-five (45) mph to its junction with U.S. HWY 57 for west bound traffic, and a maximum speed limit of fifty-five (55) mph from approximately two-tenths ( 2/10 ) of a mile south from its intersection with U.S. HWY 57 to the city limits line for southbound traffic is hereby established.
(5)
The maximum reasonable and prudent speed limit on FM 1021 (Monroe Street and El Indio Hwy.) between mile points 0.000 (at Main Street) and 0.706 (at Travis Street), shall be thirty (30) mph.
(6)
The maximum reasonable and prudent speed limit on FM 1021 between mile points 0.706 (at Travis Street) and 2.944, shall be forty-five (45) mph.
(7)
The maximum reasonable and prudent speed limit on FM 1021 between mile points 2.944 and the city limit line shall be sixty (60) mph.
(8)
The maximum reasonable and prudent speed limit on BUS 277N between mile points 0.000 and 0.710, shall be thirty five (35) mph.
(9)
The maximum reasonable and prudent speed limit on BUS 277N between mile points 0.710 and 1.550 shall be thirty (30) mph.
(10)
The maximum reasonable and prudent speed limit on Harold Drive between Edna and Ralph Streets shall be twenty (20) mph.
(11)
The maximum reasonable and prudent speed limit on U.S. 277 between mile points 27.000 and 29.785, shall be forty-five (45) mph.
