§ 26-133. Same—Coin required; two-hour periods; fines.

  • It shall be unlawful to park a motor vehicle in any parking stall in parking lot No. 1 unless the operator thereof has deposited twenty-five cents ($0.25) in the collection box for each parking stall for each of the herein designated two (2) hour periods during which such vehicle occupied the stall. The following two-hour periods are hereby designated for payment purposes: 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.; 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.; 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.; and 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

    For each violation hereof, a minimum fine of two dollars fifty cents ($2.50) must be paid at the City Hall of Eagle Pass or by placing two dollars fifty cents ($2.50) with the parking ticket in the appropriate section of the collection box designated for the parking space used. If the fine is not paid within five (5) days, double the amount above provided shall be paid. Failure to remit within seven (7) days may result in the issuance of a summons and an added penalty. Vehicles with out of state license plates or having three (3) or more parking violations shall be towed to the police station at the registered owner's expense plus a storage charge of two dollars ($2.00) per day will be added. The City of Eagle Pass, Texas, shall not be responsible for damages incurred by the owner as a result of any theft of the motor vehicle or its contents, or as a result of the removal and storage of the vehicle in violation hereof.
