§ 27-10. Billing and payment, water service and charges.

  • (a)

    Due date. All charges for water service furnished or rendered by the waterworks system of the city shall be due and payable at the office of the water department of the city on or before the due date shown on the bill for such charges.

    (b)

    Failure to pay. If such charges are not paid by the due date shown on the bill, the city reserves the right to cut off and discontinue water service to the delinquent premises without further notice; and such service shall not be reconnected and additional water shall not be furnished to such premises until all past due accounts and charges pertaining thereto are paid in full.

    (1)

    Where water service of any premises has been disconnected for failure to pay for water there furnished or service there rendered, the charge of thirty dollars ($30.00) shall be made for each and every meter there connected if reconnection is made during working hours. If such reconnection is not made during working hours, said charge shall be forty dollars ($40.00) for each and every said meter reconnected after working hours. Said charge must be paid before such service will be restored with water turned on again to such premises.
