§ 27-9. Water conservation rules during water shortage emergency.
(a)
Whenever the manager shall determine that the water supply of the city is so low as to constitute an emergency, he shall declare such an emergency by publication at least weekly, in a newspaper of general circulation published in the city.
(b)
The form of the notice shall be as follows:
Notice is hereby given that a state of emergency has been determined to exist in the city water supply. The regulations imposed by section 27-9(c) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Eagle Pass are hereby declared to be in effect.

The following regulations shall be in effect during the duration of any such declared emergency:
(1)
No person shall use water to sprinkle lawns.
(2)
No person shall use water to wash motor vehicles.
(3)
No person shall use water to wash down the drives of service stations.
(4)
No person shall operate any evaporative cooler not equipped with recirculating pump.
(5)
Residents of North Heights within the city, as well as Hillcrest Additions will be served with water during the hours between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., between 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. daily.
(d)
The city shall cut off water service to any person violating the provision of paragraph (c) of this section.
