§ 28-11. Maximum rates.

  • (a)

    Those wrecker companies that are to be placed on the wrecker list for rotation agree to charge the rates set out herein as a condition of being on the rotation list. The maximum rates or fees authorized to be charged for the following enumerated wrecker services are as follows:

    (1)

    Towing a wrecked, disabled or illegally parked vehicle ..... $65.00

    (2)

    Towing of city owned vehicles ..... N/C

    (3)

    Use of dollies or other specialized equipment ..... 20.00

    (4)

    Towing of vehicles exceeding one ton ..... 104.00

    (5)

    Towing of 18-wheelers ..... 195.00
    plus $45.00 per hour used

    (6)

    Storage fees per day for cars, pick-ups, vehicles up to one (1) ton, buses, tractors and trailers, and vehicles exceeding twenty-five (25) feet in length, shall be the same as authorized and amended by state law.

    (7)

    The fee charged for out-of-town city limits wrecker service, will be three dollars and fifty cents ($3.50) per mile when loaded.

    (8)

    Impoundment fee ..... 20.00

    (9)

    Cleaning of debris on accidents ..... 35.00

    (b)

    Where any state law, rule or regulation requires a different rate for services rendered by a wrecker service and/or storage facility or any other type of business entity regulated under this chapter, then such state regulated rate shall be followed without the necessity of further amendment of this section.
