§ 2-20. Equal employment opportunity.
The city is an equal employment opportunity employer, meaning employment decisions are based on merit and operational needs, and not on race, color, citizenship status, national origin, sex (including pregnancy), age, religion, disability, genetic information, marital status, veteran status, or any other characteristic or trait protected by law. This policy is meant to ensure that all recruitment, hiring, education, training, promotions, disciplinary decisions and other personnel actions are administered in a non-discriminatory and non-retaliatory manner.
Reasonable accommodations .
Employees or applicants for employment whom require a reasonable accommodation due to disability or religion should contact the human resources director, or designee for further assistance. The city is committed to providing its employees and/or applicants for employment with reasonable accommodations so long as the accommodation does not impose an undue burden on the city, in accordance with applicable law.
