§ 2-268. Conflict of interest.
No member of the CRC shall participate whatsoever in any review of conclusions/findings reached by the IAD if a conflict of interest exists between that member of the CRC and either the complainant or the individual peace officer or PD employee involved. A conflict of interest exists whenever either the complainant, peace officer or PD employee is related to the CRC member within either the second degree of affinity by kinship or the third degree of affinity by consanguinity kinship. Furthermore, a conflict of interest exists if the member of the CRC has a business or financial interest with either the complainant, peace officer or PD employee as defined under chapter 171.001 et seq., Texas Local Government Code.
