§ 3-1. Sound amplifying devices—Permitted only for stated purposes and during certain hours.
It shall be unlawful for any person to use, operate or permit or cause to be used or operated any mechanical or electrical device to produce, reproduce, intensify or amplify the human voice or any sounds other than musical, whereby such sounds are cast from or on any vehicle, public way or public place within the corporate limits of the city at any time for any purpose other than benevolent or charitable or religious, or at any time other than as hereinafter specified:
On weekdays only between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m., both inclusive.
On Sundays only between the hours of 12:00 noon and 6:00 p.m., both inclusive.
Exercise of any such use or operation, for a purpose hereinabove permitted and during the hours hereinabove specified, shall be preceded by giving written notice thereof to the city secretary, who shall record the same and issue permits.
