§ 6-10. Standard of care.

An owner, keeper or temporary owner of an animal is required to provide the animal(s) with humane care and treatment as follows:

(a)

Access to an adequate supply of fresh air;

(b)

Adequate food on a daily basis that is species-appropriate;

(c)

Fresh, clean water;

(d)

Exercise;

(e)

Shelter, as defined by this Code; and

(f)

Veterinary care as needed to prevent and treat illness and alleviate suffering.
