§ 8-48. City's certificate of registration; application.
(a)
No person shall contract, offer to contract, or engage in any air conditioning, cooling, refrigeration or heating system work without first obtaining a certificate of registration from the city's building department, nor shall any person contract, offer to contract, or engage in such work while that certificate of registration is suspended or revoked.
(b)
To secure a city's certificate of registration as an air condition and refrigeration contractor, an application shall be made in writing and addressed to the city's building department. The application shall show the applicant's name and such other information as may be prescribed by the building department, and shall be made out on forms available in the building department.
In addition to the above-stated information, an application must contain the following information:
(1)
Evidence of current and effective Class A or Class B License issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
(2)
If contracted by an individual or company, an affidavit setting forth the names of the person or persons who are the owners of the business or who are the officers of the firm who own the business and the name and address of the person who shall be responsible for the business.
(3)
If owner of business, the names of the employees, if any. Upon termination of the employer-employee relationships notice shall be given to the chief building official within five (5) days from the date of termination of that relationship.
