§ 11-8. Interim municipal government.

From and after the date of the adoption of this charter the persons then filling elective offices which are retained under this charter will continue to fill those offices for the terms of which they were elected. At the first regular city election after the adoption of this charter, a mayor and four (4) councilmen shall be elected in the manner of and for the terms stated in Article III, section 3-2 of this charter. Thereafter, the city council shall be elected as provided in Article III, section 3-2 of this charter. Persons, who on the date this charter is adopted are filling appointive positions with the City of Eagle Pass which are retained under this charter, may continue to fill these positions for the term for which they were appointed.
