§ 10-17. Collection of court costs authorized by Senate Bill 460; spending designated.

The municipal court of the city is hereby authorized and directed to collect the court costs authorized by sections 1 and 2 of Senate Bill 460, creating the Child Safety Fund, including, but not limited to:

(1)

Five dollars ($5.00) additional court costs for any parking conviction and pedestrian conviction;

(2)

Twenty dollars ($20.00) additional court costs for any conviction based upon article 6701d if committed in a school crossing zone;

(3)

Twenty dollars ($20.00) additional court costs for any conviction of section 104 of article 6701d, V.T.C.S.; and

(4)

Twenty dollars ($20.00) additional court costs for any conviction under section 4.25 of the Education Code (truancy).

These funds shall be spent on programs to enhance child safety, health, nutrition, child abuse prevention and intervention or drug and alcohol abuse.
