§ 22-24. Definitions.

[The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this division, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:]

City of Eagle Pass refers to the city council and staff of the City of Eagle Pass.

City of Eagle Pass Water Works and Sewer System refers to the board and staff of the Eagle Pass Water and Sewer System.

Utility or utility company is any public or private agency or organization which provides services to the general public and maintains the infrastructure necessary for said service. Services include, but are not limited to, electric, gas, telephone, water, sewer, storm drainage and television cable systems, as well as streetcar and bus lines and includes the Eagle Pass Water Works and Sewer System.

Utility cut is an excavation into a city street, sidewalk or right-of-way surface for the purpose of installing, repairing, or otherwise maintaining utility companies' infrastructure.
