§ 26-140. Loading zones in parking meter zones.

Latest version.
  • Whenever any curb loading zones are established in a parking meter zone pursuant to section 26-127, it shall not be necessary to install a parking meter in such loading zone, nor shall it be necessary for the driver of any vehicle using such loading zone for loading or unloading to deposit any coin in a meter located in such loading zone. The designation of any on-street loading zone that results in the elimination of a metered parking space shall require the payment of an annual fee of five hundred fifty dollars ($550.00) per parking space as mitigation for the loss of on-street parking opportunities by the general public and to serve as a funding mechanism to maintain existing public parking facilities, create new public parking facilities or maintain the public infrastructure in the designated parking zones in the downtown Eagle Pass.

Revenue collected as part of an on-street loading zone designation shall be deposited in a fund established for operations associated with providing on-street and off-street public parking opportunities and maintenance of the public infrastructure in the designated parking zones in downtown Eagle Pass.
