§ 28-1. Purpose of chapter; exemption.

(a)

The purpose of this chapter is to establish licensing procedures for wrecker service businesses to show proof of safety and insurance requirements, and to establish a wrecker rotation list within the city.

(b)

This chapter shall apply only to those establishments who are in the business of towing vehicles and/or performing non-consent tows in exchange for money or who request to be placed on the wrecker rotation list. Other businesses, although exempt from the requirements of this chapter, must still comply with all state and federal requirements regarding the operation of such vehicles.
