§ 2-53. Same—Participating departments.

The city manager is hereby directed to notify the board of trustees of the Texas Municipal Retirement System that the city has elected to participate and have the employees of the following city departments participate in such system:

Executive, administrative, legal, police, traffic, public works, and toll bridge, with the following exceptions:

(a)

Emergency services;

(b)

Part-time positions (less than one thousand (1,000) hours per year);

(c)

Positions compensated on a fee basis;

(d)

Elective positions;

(e)

Temporary positions;

(f)

Fire department.

Editor's note

Ord. No. 67-10, §§ 1—5, adopted May 2, 1967 included the fire department in the Texas Municipal Retirement System. However as said ordinance was nonamendatory of this Code the editors did not delete the fire department from § 2-53.
