§ 2-265. Role established.

Latest version.
  • The role of the CRC will be to review the conclusions/findings reached by the IAD in selected investigations and, following that review, to make recommendations to the chief of police. The chief of police is to review the recommendation of the CRC and following such review, the chief of police, in his/her sole discretion, may adopt that recommendation, reject the recommendation, or modify the recommendation. Any decision made by the chief of police regarding a CRC recommendation shall be in all things final; that is, there is no appeal of that decision by the CRC to anyone. The CRC shall be called upon to make recommendations in all cases where:

    (1)

The initial complaint is written; and

    (2)

The IAD has completed its investigation of the case and issued its final conclusions/findings. The CRC shall not be called upon to make a recommendation in those cases where the initial complaint is not written.
