§ 2-266. Confidentiality guaranteed.

  • Confidentiality shall be guaranteed to all affected parties including, but not limited to, the complainant, the peace officer or employee involved, the members of the CRC and the IAD. No member of the CRC shall release any information whatsoever regarding its review of the conclusion/findings of the IAD, or of the investigation of the IAD itself, to anyone other than the chief of police, or to some other person to whom the CRC is ordered to disclose such information by order of a court of competent jurisdiction. Under no circumstances shall any member of the CRC disclose any information obtained by it regarding a complaint, investigation, or conclusion/findings of the IAD regarding a peace officer or employee of the PD save as specifically set forth herein. Any violation of this particular provision of this division by any member of the CRC shall result in the immediate removal of that member from the CRC by a vote of a majority of a duly recognized quorum of the city council.
