§ 12-53. Fees for examination and registration.

The fees for examination shall be payable to the City of Eagle Pass. Each applicant for a certificate of registration (hereinafter referred as license) shall pay to the City of Eagle Pass the examination fee as specified. A separate fee shall be paid each time an applicant takes an examination. An applicant who fails to take the examination following the date of his application shall forfeit his fee unless an excuse is obtained prior to the examination date and provided a new application is filed before the next regular examination.

The annual registration fee shall be paid before the issuance of a license of registration. The fiscal year for the payment of fees shall begin on January 1, and shall end on December 31, of the same year. In case of new registrations after July 1 of any year, the annual fee shall be one-half (½) of the amount shown in Table 1, provided that renewal fees shall not be so pro-rated.
