§ 27-107. Authority of general manager to declare water emergency; defined.
(a)
The general manager of the Eagle Pass Waterworks System is authorized to determine if a water emergency exists and to take reasonable measures to protect the system's water customers and to conserve water. In such an event the general manager will notify the city manager immediately of the nature of the emergency and the action taken. Any action taken in connection with a water emergency of a duration in excess of ninety (90) days shall require approval of the city council.
(b)
"Water emergency" is hereby defined for the purposes of this section to be a problem in supplying water at adequate pressure to some or all existing customers of the waterworks system due to climatic conditions, temporary breakdowns of machinery, or breaks in mains, or similar sudden inadvertent and temporary disruptions in service or water pressure.
