§ 2-3. Extension of city boundaries by annexation; authority to charge and collect administrative fee.

  • (a)

    The boundary limits of said city may be extended by the annexation of additional territory lying adjacent to the city.

    (b)

    Such extension of boundary limits, by the annexation of additional territory lying adjacent to the city and having a sole common owner of record, at the discretion of the city council acting upon the sworn application in writing executed and submitted to them by such record owner of such territory, shall be accomplished by the council by passing an ordinance setting forth the metes and bounds of the area sought to be annexed, and declaring that the territory within the boundaries so defined shall thereafter be a part of the city, and within its corporate limits, and subject to all of the rules and regulations applicable to the territory then within the city.

    (c)

    Each applicant for annexation shall pay an administrative fee of one hundred dollars ($100.00) plus any publication cost incurred by the City of Eagle Pass.
